4 Daily Habits to Help You Live on Mission
How can a ‘life on mission’ be defined? Simply, it is walking a journey with Jesus and sharing that journey with others as you go, being a living example of life with Jesus.
Romans 12:1–2 puts it like this:
“Take your everyday, ordinary life — your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life — and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking.”
Committing to a life on mission is all about embracing the mundane daily grind, and seeing God in the everyday moments of life. This means making the most of the opportunities in front of you. Not just waiting for the big ‘moment to shine’, but rather being little beacons of hope to people whenever possible. It’s these little moments that make a huge difference and become opportunities, to weave the Gospel into the tapestry of people's lives.
A life on mission is an adventure that every Christian should embark on. Committing to a life on mission makes sharing your faith easy because it becomes a way of life, not a thing you do.
4 daily habits to help you live on mission:
- See — See your ‘daily-grind’ as daily opportunities
- Read — Read the Bible. God’s word is living and active. Let it lead and influence your daily life.
- Pray — Chat with God daily about people and situations. Ask questions, ask for direction and ask for help in moments.
- Listen — Listen to the Holy Spirit. When he speaks about doing something or talking to someone, obey.
