Do You Ever Feel like Sharing What Jesus Did for You, Is like Sharing a Fairy Tale?

Have you ever had a time when you’ve been sharing with someone about Jesus and you feel like you’ve missed something? I have!

The message of the Gospel seems so simple that it’s easy to feel like you’re missing something. There have been many times I have been in the middle of a conversation and I find myself thinking, this is like sharing a fairy tale to a child!

It goes like this; We were created by a God that loves us, He made the world good, and everything in it. He made us for a relationship with Him, but along came a deceiver and we got deceived. We fell into a trap and we became eternally separated from God with no way back to him. So God sent his son Jesus to die in our place, exchanging his life for ours, so we could be in relationship with God again. Jesus defeated sin and death rising from the dead and returning to heaven.

It’s astounding that Jesus would sacrifice his life for us! Without Jesus’ death and resurrection, we are eternally separated from God.

Sin cut us off, and all of us have sinned

Romans 3:21–24 clearly tells us this. The only way back is through Jesus.

Jesus walked this earth fully God and fully man and was without sin. He was the spotless Lamb of God, no mark was on Him 1 Peter 1:18–19, meaning that when He died on the cross He took the punishment of sin that we deserve which is death.

When Jesus died, He took back the authority that man had given to the enemy and defeated death. He rose again.

Jesus will return again one day and when He does the end will come, meaning we need to choose God now — choosing God is choosing eternal life with Him!

I think the bit that gets me unstuck when I’m sharing with people, is their inability to see. In turn, I can start thinking to myself “Am I missing something?”

No! No, I’m not! This is not a fairy tale, this actually happened — Jesus actually walked this earth! This is not a history lesson; His life, His death and His resurrection changed history forever. It’s now up to people to make a choice.

How can the message be so simple yet so hard for people to understand?

The problem is people are still getting to enjoy God’s creation regardless of whether they are choosing to follow Him or not. Whether people accept that there is a God that created them or not the reality is they are still receiving breath and life from Him. Have you ever stopped to consider what this earth would be like when God removes His hand from it?

The time will come when Jesus will return. There are many scriptures in the Bible that tell us this; Revelation 3:11, 1 John 2:28.

2 Peter 3:10–13 — tells us that the day of Jesus returning will come unexpectedly like a thief and then the earth and everything on it will be judged.

Am I living each day with eternity in mind?
For me, it was about getting a personal revelation from God. Whenever I felt inadequate in sharing my faith, whenever those thoughts of a fairytale sprung to mind I would ask God to give me perspective. Did I believe for myself what I was sharing? Had I understood the depth of what Jesus had done?

The question is, do you understand what Jesus has done for you too? Are you living with eternity in mind?
